Extraordinary situations demand people of extraordinary vision. The World Health Organization has designated Indoor Air Quality as one of the top five global health hazards faced by mankind. We presume that as long as the air we breathe is sufficiently cool and dry that it is clean and healthy. This is incorrect. Our scientists tell me that as many as 700,000 spores can fit on the head of a pin. These potentially harmful living spores are entrained in the indoor air we breathe daily.
While we are all very mindful of the quality of the outdoor atmosphere with an eye on haze and the air pollution index, we spend as much as 90% of our time in an indoor climate that can be as much as 100 times more polluted than outdoors by these living, growing fungi and bacteria. The consequences can be devastating.
Paediatric asthma has risen by 59% worldwide over the last ten years. Chronic sinusitis affects as many as 37 million people annually in the United States alone. The lost productivity due to respiratory illness is incalculable. Researchers at the Mayo Clinic in the US conducted extensive research and determined that the main cause of Sinusitis is fungal related and consequently conventional treatment with antibiotics is ineffective.
So, what are we to do? As mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, we are charged to protect our loved ones. As professionals we have an obligation to leave behind a benefit to others derived from the knowledge we have and the work we do. As responsible citizens of the global community, and particularly in my case as the Royal Fellow of UKM’s Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), I am commissioned to provide sustainable solutions to problems in an earth and community friendly manner. This involves harnessing nature to our benefit and not to our detriment.
In this context I have had the unique opportunity to organize a group of global scientists and engineers specializing in indoor air quality who share this philosophy. Their work in controlling airborne bio-aerosols such as fungi and bacteria through the application of a 100% natural, chemical free, alcohol free plant based product is quite amazing. I posed a challenge to them. My challenge was simple. “Take what you have and what you do and personalize it for the average person. Make your large building solutions for offices, hotels and the health care industry applicable to someone’s home, car and personal office space.”
BluOxy is the right product at the right time. It is scientifically formulated specifically to enhance the sustainability of one’s “personal air space.” It is completely safe, easy to apply and has unparalleled efficacy. It has proven 100% effective against the fungal genera, Cladosporium which is one of the most dominant airborne fungi in tropical and sub tropical environments and one of the leading fungi identified by the Mayo Clinic in their studies of chronic sinusitis. Cladosporium has been conclusively identified in various building types and locations here in Malaysia by our team of experts.
We continue to pursue technologies that benefit the global community while promoting earth friendly sustainability. As such, wewill continue to provide positive, scientifically grounded solutions to the infection control issue that the health care industry faces today.
It is our goal. It is our mission and it is our commitment to others.
